Natural History Museum of Santa Maria and More

UPDATE: NOTE CHANGE IN TOUR DIRECTION.

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, we will take a road trip to botanic gardens of Santa Maria and Santa Ynez, California. The first stop is to Manzanita Nursery in Solvang for a tour and opportunity to purchase plants. (Note that this nursery only takes cash or checks for plant purchases.)

The second stop is to the Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden for a tour and browsing. The third stop is to the Natural History Museum of Santa Maria for a tour of their native plant garden.

For carpooling, meet at 9:00 am at the Halcyon Park and Ride in Arroyo Grande on the south side of Highway 101 at the Halcyon Road exit (35.123094, -120.590477). Otherwise, meet us at 10:00 am at Manzanita Nursery, 880 Chalk Hill Road, Solvang (34.610632, -120.152299).

This field trip will take most of the day. Restrooms are available at most of the stops. Bring water, lunch, sunscreen, hat, sturdy shoes, and dress in layers for changing weather. Rain or threat of rain cancel or postpone this trip.
