This presentation will include a discussion on which native plants work well in a garden setting, especially those for inland gardens north of Cuesta Grade of San Luis Obispo County. Zach Tanner will focus on plant selection and other design considerations for the unique climate and soils of interior north SLO County. Cindy Roessler will focus on how to attract pollinators to a native plant garden. Reservation is not required. We have native landscape planting guides on our chapter website; print out and bring one to the presentation so you can mark it up with the plants you want for your garden.
Before or after your trip to the library for this presentation, check out the nearby Bill Shepard Native Plant Demonstration Garden. A plant list for this garden can be found at the website of the Atascadero Land Preservation Society.
This will be a great presentation to prepare for the upcoming rainy planting season and for our native plant sale on November 4.
