Botanic Riches of Santa Rita Creek – March Membership Meeting

March 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

David Chipping will be the speaker at our March 7, 2024 membership meeting which will be held at the Atascadero Library. His topic is Revealing the Botanic Riches of Santa Rita Creek. Santa Rita Creek runs next to Santa Rita Road at the western end of the town of Templeton in a deeply incised canyon which supports a rich flora including many plants that were used by native peoples. He will also describe the geology that influences this riparian corridor and its associated habitat types. The schedule for this meeting will be 7:00-7:30 pm for social mixing and light refreshments, and 7:30-8:30 pm for a short business meeting and the speaker.

This meeting is being held in the Community Room at the Atascadero Library on the second floor after usual library business hours. There will be a CNPS chapter representative at the library front door to allow entrance to the lobby and community room.

UPDATE: the mini-keying workshop originally scheduled before this meeting will be moved to another date. Our chapter could use additional volunteers to keep programs, hikes and other services running. Please talk to any Board member if you would like to help; we can provide training as needed.
